Morava Vidensky special — January 7, 2015

Morava Vidensky special

Microbrewery in Frydek-Mistek announced its first new beer in 2015. It´s Vidensky special (Vienna lager) and it´s going to be on sale by Jan.16th.

Vienna or amber lager was developed by brewer Anton Dreher in Vienna in 1841. Austrian brewers who emigrated to Mexico in the late 19th century took the style with them. Vienna lager is a reddish-brown or copper-colored beer with medium body and slight malt sweetness. The malt aroma and flavor may have a toasted character.

Morava India Pale Ale & Koníček HATATITLA IPA 14,5%

10697219_677526245676637_2032316286959264452_o Finally! More and more north moravian breweries are starting to brew not only lagers but ales! Morava brewery from my hometown brewed its second IPA – the first one was pretty good, this one should be even more hoppy and dry and Vojkovice brewery U konicka – probably the first microbrewery in this region – will have its first ever ale – Hatattitla IPA – on friday Oct 10th. I can´t wait.

On Saturday there is an “Octoberfest” in Karolina shopping park in Ostrava and I´m pretty sure I will be able to taste both of these new brews.

The first ever ale from Frydek-Mistek — August 7, 2014

The first ever ale from Frydek-Mistek

10552561_648156588613603_1521124372099393685_nThe hell froze over! Frydek-Mistek, my hometown, will have its first ale. That is remarkable because local beer drinkers are ultra conservative and the only beer here is Radegast – local pilsener lager. But things changed…

Morava – 1st local brewpub – announced today its first ale. It´s going to be a Red Ale with about 5.2% alc. and I can´t wait to taste it next weekend!

Morava Boruvkove pivo — June 18, 2014

Morava Boruvkove pivo

Microbrewery Morava in Frydek-Mistek offers a new brew. It´s a fruit beer and it´s quite typical for this region. Beskydy mountains are full of blueberries so the choice was obvious. My guess is that it´s mix of their lager beer and blueberry syrup and it´ll be pretty decent. I must check it out eventhough I´m not a big fan of fruit beers.10423943_617726631656599_6103456227131422149_n

Pivovárek Morava Velikonoční speciál

524545_575642609198335_825667968_nQuite new pub-brewery Morava in Frýdek-Místek is quite succesful so far so they widen their portfolio. As many of others Czech breweries they decided to brew an Easter special. The special is going to be Vienna style lager (Polotmavy in Czech) with about 5.2% alc, copper color and smooth taste. You will have a chance to taste it from April 14th in Frydek-Mistek and Ostrava.
